Where did you leave your hat? Mom asked Abby.
Not realizing that she was wearing it, Abby wondered.
“Hmmm…”
Abby looked under her bed.
She couldn’t find the hat.
Abby looked in the garden.
She hadn’t left it there.
Abby looked in her toy closet.
It wasn’t there.
Unable to find her hat, Abby said innocently, "Mama, I might have eaten it”.
Mama laughed, pulled the hat from Abby’s head and asked, “Who left it here then, the monkeys?
